The Forbidden Female Speaks in Egypt
- One week retreat on the Nile in Luxor (16 to 23 January 2025) with excursions to impressive ancient temples and sacred places
- Three workshops by Pamela on healing the feminine energy and bringing the forbidden female within to life. With channelings of Mary Magdalene and Jeshua
- Accommodation in a 4/5 star hotel, in a single room, with stunning views of the Nile, swimming pool and beautiful garden
From January 16 to 23, 2025, I will organize an international group retreat (English speaking) in Luxor (Egypt), in which I will offer three workshops and in which you will visit the highlights of Egypt’s ancient heritage in Luxor, which used to be the capital of the country for several centuries (BC).
I will focus on one theme in particular: the forbidden female. In my book The Forbidden Female Speaks I channel Mary Magdalene about the need for an awakening of the feminine energy and the healing of old wounds. Essentially, it is about balancing the feminine and the masculine energy inside, which is what both men and women need to do in order to create inner growth and loving relationships. The workshops are therefore not just suitable for women, but for men as well.
The workshops will help you to energetically connect with different aspects of your feminine energy: head, heart and abdomen. We do this, among other things, by becoming acquainted with pre-Christian images of femininity from ancient Egypt: the goddesses Isis, Hathor and Sekhmet (head, heart and abdomen). Their images can be found everywhere in the temples and tombs. In my view they represent certain universal aspects of the feminine energy. To connect with these energies can be insightful and liberating, as it brings you in touch with an ancient tradition in which the feminine was still regarded as equal and complementary to the masculine.
The program consists of three workshop days and three days of fully arranged excursions to temples and sacred places. In addition to the workshops and excursions, there is also time to relax/swim/hang out in the garden or make your own excursions. There are three free afternoons.
Program
Thursday, January 16 – Arrival day
Friday, January 17 – Morning: workshop 1 – Afternoon: free
Saturday, January 18 – Morning: Karnak temple – Afternoon: Luxor temple
Sunday January 19 – Morning: workshop 2 – Afternoon: free
Monday, January 20 – Morning: Dendara temple – Afternoon: boat trip on the Nile
Tuesday, January 21 – Morning: workshop 3 – Afternoon: free
Wednesday, January 22 – Morning: Valley of the Kings – Afternoon: Temple of Hatshepsut
Thursday, January 23 – Departure day
Visiting the ancient temples and places in combination with attending the workshops is intense and often has quite an emotional impact. It is therefore advisable to take enough time in between to relax.
Pamela offers the workshops and during the excursions, you are accompanied by her assistant Marjo Langewen and a certified (English speaking) Egyptian tour guide.
The workshops
The aim of the workshops is to discover and express the forbidden female within yourself. We will distinguish between three levels: head, heart and abdomen. On all of these levels, the feminine energy has become suppressed and is in need of healing and self-expression.
– Head: third eye, intuition, the ability to channel, wisdom
– Heart: empathy, inspiration, the ability to connect both with others (horizontally) and with the divine (vertically)
– Abdomen: emotion, passion, boundaries, self-awareness, grounding
Through channeling and guided meditations, you will be invited to explore what is preventing your feminine energy to flow freely. You will get in touch with emotional blockages or disempowering beliefs on each level (head, heart, abdomen) and be encouraged to gently release these. We will practice welcoming and lovingly integrating the blocked energy. The aim of the workshops is to liberate the forbidden feminine energy within you, so that it can find its natural flow again.
The workshops are not specifically intended for women, men are also most welcome. Every human being is a soul with both masculine and feminine energy. Men also have (forbidden) feminine energy that wants to be brought to life.
During the workshops, every participant can submit one personal question to which you will receive a channeled answer.
Ancient goddesses
To make energetic contact with the different aspects of your feminine energy (head, heart and abdomen), it can be inspiring to get acquainted with pre-Christian images of femininity from ancient Egypt: Isis, Hathor, Sekhmet (head, heart, abdomen).
These goddesses reflect universal aspects of the feminine energy. In my opinion, these are life energies that are present in all of us (including men):
Isis…cosmic mother, goddess of renewal and healing…corresponds energetically with the crown chakra and third eye: wisdom, compassion, overview and creative power (similarities with mother Mary)
Hathor……goddess of dance, music, sensuality……but also (in my words) uniting light and dark, integrating the shadow……corresponds energetically with the heart: connecting higher and lower,
cosmic and earthly (similarities with Mary Magdalena)
Sekhmet ……goddess with female body and lion’s head, goddess of war and protection……..represents grounding, strength and self-awareness…….corresponds energetically with the lower chakras (solar plexus, abdomen, tailbone) and there is a correspondence with the spirit of mother Earth.
These three goddesses are present in various shapes and forms in the temples and tombs that we visit. During the excursions you will experience how these archetypical energies affect and inspire you.
The Excursions
During the excursions you will be shown around by a certified Egyptian guide who will provide you with (English) information. During every visit there is also time for yourself, in which you can walk around and absorb the energy and beauty of the places in your own way.
Transfers from the hotel to the monuments will be by comfortable, air-conditioned buses.
During the three excursion days you will visit the following places:
1. The majestic temple of Karnak, known for its grand and impressive colonnade, the beautiful statues and reliefs and the “sacred lake”. Also, somewhat hidden there is a chapel dedicated to the goddess Sekhmet, with a special atmosphere and powerful energy.
We visit the temple early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Afterwards you will return to the hotel to have lunch and relax.
In the afternoon you will visit Luxor Temple, in the center of the city, which has a softer energy and is dedicated to healing the body. The light of the descending sun makes the temple glow with warmth and tenderness.
2. Dendara temple, dedicated to the goddess Hathor (goddess of love, dance, music and sensuality). Large, beautiful temple from Greek times, located in the city of Qena, which is a one hour and a half drive from our hotel in Luxor.
You’ll leave early in the morning, so you’ll be back at the hotel before the hottest time of the day, where you can enjoy lunch.
Around 5PM we take a boat trip on the Nile to enjoy the magnificent view of the fields and mountains during sunset.
3. Visit to Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut
Experience the famous Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs (kings) of ancient Egypt were buried in majestic, richly decorated tombs full of spiritual symbolism about the journey to the afterlife. Here you will also visit the tomb of Tutankhamun (son of “lightworker” pharaoh Achnaton).
After lunch we visit the temple of Hatshepsut, beautifully situated against steep cliffs on the west bank of the Nile. Hatshepsut was one of the very few female pharaohs in ancient Egypt. She dressed in men’s clothes and during her reign there were few wars and armed conflicts. This temple also contains an attractive Hathor chapel.

Flights to Luxor
There are two direct flights to Luxor from TUI, one from Brussels and one from Düsseldorf. Both are (still) reasonably priced (see tui.be and tui.de). These charter flights take place once a week, on Thursdays, so you can book the outbound flight on Thursday, January 16 (departure early in the morning) and the return flight on Thursday, January 23 (departure in the afternoon). The duration of the flight is approximately 5 hours.
Another option is to book a flight to Luxor with a stopover in Cairo, for example with EgyptAir. There are 4 or 5 flights every day from Cairo to Luxor (flight time around 1 hour). Indirect flights are slightly more expensive, but this option becomes attractive if you want to stay in Egypt for a longer period. (You are not limited to the Thursdays on which TUI flies), When you arrive one or a few days earlier or leave later, you could visit Cairo (the pyramids).
We will arrange your transfer from and to Luxor airport, whatever day and time you arrive or depart (this taxi service is included in the price of the trip). The travel time by taxi from Luxor Airport to the hotel is approximately 20 minutes.
Another alternative is to fly to Hurghada, a popular seaside resort on the beautiful Red Sea where quite a few, often affordable, flights go (check Skyscanner for an overview). From Hurghada it is a 4-hour drive to Luxor. We can arrange the taxi transport for you. If you are alone or want a taxi for yourself, the price is 80 euro for a single trip. From 2 or more people in a shared taxi (bus), the price is 50 euro per person for a single trip.
However, you can only drive to Luxor the same day if you arrive no later than 3 pm in the afternoon, because after 5 pm taxis do not drive to Luxor anymore. If you arrive after 3pm, you should book a hotel stay in Hurghada yourself (you can explore the huge range of options on Booking.com) and you can travel to Luxor the next day via a taxi arranged by us. This means that you have to book the outbound flight on January 15; you will then travel to Luxor by taxi on January 16. This can be enjoyable if you want to do the journey in two steps and take a refreshing dip in the Red Sea.
Don’t wait too long to book your flight ticket, because the prices will probably go up. As soon as you have received confirmation from us that the trip will definitely take place and that you have been registered, you can book your ticket.
